He looks vaguely familiar ... but you can't place exactly where the hell you saw the nerdy guy in glasses from "Project X" before -- well here's a hint ... he banged three smoking hot chicks in a popular porno you watched.
His name's Jonathan Daniel Brown and he plays JB in the new Todd Phillips movie -- his first big acting gig -- but TMZ has learned, he made his on-screen debut about three years ago ... in a slightly less popular title ... "Nerd Hunting," a Bang Bros. production.
Sources close to Jonathan tell TMZ he wasn't gunning for a career in porn at the time -- he was just looking for some first time on-screen experience ... "It was just kids being kids."
Nothing to be ashamed about either ... the girls in the porn flick are ridiculously hot -- and we're told JB's still got the magic touch, attracting serious female attention ever since the studio began screening "Project X" ... a movie that's already been hailed as an instant classic. Plus it did well in midnight showings, so a return to porn won't be needed anytime soon.
So there you have it -- Jonathan Brown ... the nerd you wish you could be.

Nicole Scherzinger -- 30-Minute Crying Session After 'X Factor' Elimination | TMZ.com
Nicole Scherzinger ran off the set of 'X Factor' in tears last night ... when the audience booed her like crazy for eliminating Rachel Crow ... and TMZ has learned she was hysterically crying in her dressing room for nearly a half-hour.
Nicole was charged with casting the final vote between Crow and Marcus Canty ... but didn't want to eliminate either .. so she sent the vote to "Deadlock" -- which meant it all boiled down to the audience vote.
Crow lost ... and broke down in tears ... and when the host of the show asked Nicole to comment, the crowd unleashed a chorus of boos.
Sources connected to the production tell TMZ ... Nicole bolted right for her dressing room ... and was "inconsolable" about the situation.
We're told Crow -- who was a crying mess herself -- heard about Nicole and went to the judge's dressing room ... where the two cried together and Crow told Nicole she was not mad about the decision.
It's been a rough couple of weeks for Scherzinger -- as TMZ first reported, she had already been getting death threats and hate mail for voting Drew Ryniewicz off the show last week.

The famous mouth-shaped urinals in a Rolling Stones memorabilia museum in Germany are in hot water … after several women complained the pee receptacles are demeaning to females.
According to German reports, roughly 12 women have complained about the urinals … calling for their removal.
One angry lady claims her beef stems from the tongue … or lack thereof … saying, “If it had been based on the emblem of the Stones with the tongue, it would have been OK. But the tongue's been left out and they really look like women's mouths."
For the record, the urinals have been stirring up controversy for years – Virgin Airlines scrapped plans to install a pair at JFK airport in 2004. It’s unclear if they were modeled directly after the famous Stones logo.
Despite the pushback, the owner of the museum says he won’t budge … saying, “They were damned expensive and they're staying where they are … That's final."

We're told the two did NOT arrive together ... De Niro originally hit the club -- called Vanquish -- with a friend right when the place opened. But a few hours later, T.I. rolled in ... and when he heard the Oscar winner was in the house, he HAD to meet him.
Sources say the two got along GREAT ... and spent the rest of the night talking and "chillin' together."
We're told Trey Songz and Fabolous were also at the club ... and both made sure to go over to De Niro to shake his hand.

Kim Kardashian Flour Bomber is a 'Bully'
Kim Kardashian says the woman who attacked her with flour last night is nothing more than a "bully" ... and claims the only reason she's NOT pressing charges ... is because she's just too busy.
Kim just called in to "TMZ Live" ... and gave us the blow-by-blow about how she handled herself when a female animal activist broke on to the red carpet and attacked her at an event for her new fragrance.
Kim tells us ... she tried her best to "laugh it off" ... and refused to leave the event because she didn't want to disrespect all of the people who worked so hard to put the event together.
And while Kim says she understands the flour bomber's beliefs ... KK raised a great point -- "If you're trying to promote nonviolence towards animals ... why are you trying to be violent towards humans?"
